depending on what grit of paper you finished with...id use 3M Perfect it 3 compound with a 3m compound foam pad. Then hit it with 3M perfect it 3 swirl mark remover/ polish...you should be good to go from there.

i smoothed the clear coat with 2000grit, my dad got some more clear tho so i think im going to hit it with another coat of clear then wet sand again. so 3m works good? what kind of pads should i use on a electric buffer?

I use 3M 3000 compound with a cutting wool pad, then go over it again with a black polish waffle pad with 3M swirl free polish, then go over it again with 3M hand glaze. always a perfect flawless finish. i have a different way of doing it for dark or black colors, but you get the idea. all of which can be used on an electric or air buffer. havent had any complaints yet nor hardly any spider webs or swirls in the sunlight. just keep your pad as flat as possible at all times to eliminate swirls

ive used 3m products for a few years now.for the dash or any other small pieces i would recommend getting a mini air polisher that has a 3" pad. i used one when i was wetsanding and buffing motocycle parts. its a lot easier to use with small parts than a regular buffer. plus you dont have to worry about slinging parts across the room.
