i put a deck in my boys 94-95 chevy full size blazer. its a jenson cd/dvd with screen. everythign was fine. well the next day i put in an amp for 2 6x9s and i ran a power from the amp to the battery and a ground from the amp to seat bolt and a remote from amp to back of deck...and when u turn off the key now the deck stays on..and if u turn it off manually the clock stays on and were worried bout his battery dyin because he works offshore and itll be on 3 weeks at a time. i havent ever seen this before. we literally had the keys in our hand and were watchin a movie. that cant be good. any ideas guys?

Does it stay on after you open the door?

sounds like u got the red wire on the radio hooked up to a constant power make sure the red and yellow wire's arn't touching

yes when u open the door it still stays on.

red is hooked up to the ignition

i thought maybe i had the remote wire touchin the power wire on the amp...but looked real close and no strands are touching.

i would bust out the DMM and find a new switched ignition source. Ive heard of the door pins going bad and not shutting off the radios when opened because there is some relay setup that keeps power going to it unless the switch in the door is tripped.
