I don't know if this has been asked, but is it possible to paint the face of a sub for example, a P1-P3 fosgate. And would it effect the way it performs if you can?

i've seen a lot of dustcaps painted in show coverage and stuff. So i doubt it effects the speaker's performance

only big issue i would see is if some paint got on the foam surround and made it break down. I know silicone sealent will do that but not sure about the chems in paint.

dust caps would be alright to paint but the rest of the sub is a negative unless you can get the paint perfectly level, soe spots on the sub will have more paint and therefore will be heavier. The sub will move in an odd way and sound wil be distorted plus it will stress the voicecoil more, shortening your speakers life, i you want to paint something, invert the sub and paint the basket
