i had the same problem, i bought some of that anti squeek stuff from an autoparts store, but before i got around to puttin it on, it went away.

ive had that problem with any cheap metallic pad ive ever used. gotta go with higher quality metallics or cheap ass organic pads (if you can find them)

you could always sell it and get a nice import... j/k I have that same problem on all older chevys I ever owned or worked on.. seems to be comon, my burban thank god does not have it yet (knock on wood)

my import does it...

its wierd, it has its days when it wants to squeal like a pig. and itll do that for a day or two, then itll go away. maybe 2-3 weeks later itll do it again. nothing i can do about it, its done it with the last 2 sets of pads, with new rotors then turned rotors...so i dunno

when you put the new pads on do you break them in slowly, or just go out and heat them up right away? do you clean them before installing them? I would recomend a nice clean pad, and then go out to a near by parking lot and break them in slow, if you heat them up to fast they can warp or glaze over if there is some "crap" on them that melts to the pad.

another tip I have not tried is to rough them up before installing them, sand paper or something to break that first layer of crap off.

yea, im anal as hell with cleanliness when reinstalling brakes.

i also use a rolox pad on the rotors after tehy are cut to give them the cross cut on them. (a trick my dad taught me) and ill hand scuff the pads.

like i said, i think i may be stricken with bad luck on cheap pads

sounds like you are doing all you can then Bryan.. I am not much of a brake man, but I know that all older chevys seem to squeel.. unless you go all out and get some aftermarket brakes or something.. I just live with the noise and turn up the radio hopefully the burban will not get the squeel.
