Hey Was sup guys, I've recently relocated my battery into the bed of my 91Mazda b2600i, when origianlly it was in the front there was a wire from a little fuse box that was the main fuse and says 80A, this wire would go from the fuse box to the positive terminal of my battery now I'm relocating it the proalem is that it is about an 8 gauge thick wire and I went to radio shack and auto parts and nobody carrys it, so I went to Home Depot and I bought the cable but the only connectors are for 10gauge, whats my best bet I'm buying the wire cause I need it longer in order to relocate it. Can I switch to a 10gauge its just a little less thicker but It would be alot easier, is this safe to do so?

I would go with the 8 gauge or thicker 4 gauge wire because of the length of the wire you are going to lose a little power you should be able to pick up the wire and and any connectors at a stereo shop.

I just used 10g and ran it from the fusebox to the post on the starter where the battery cable comes in. I used welding wire but cant remember the size right off hand, ran it down through the frame, and up into the bed.

Just like he said, go to a local stereo shop. I used a 4 ga. amp wiring kit by Stinger and a Stinger relay to add a 2nd battery to my S-10. You will get plenty of power and ground wire and a bunch of terminals for the wire. Also in some kits, you will get a fuse holder and fuse.

with an approximate 15' run at 80 amps you need to run a 6 gauge wire min.
