suicide the door, keep the stock handles?

i'd love to suicide the driver door of my 85 pup, but i'm not shaving the handles and i want the exterior and interior door handles to still work. putting a door popper on it would defeat the purpose of not shaving the doors. so is it possible, has anyone done it? are there pictures?

also... anyone notice the stock hinges on the back doors of extended cab titans??? they fold back almost 180 degrees. rad!!

yes it is possible with a little bit of fiddling.

yes it is possible and has been done a few times that i have seen. a mini truckin from around july or august had a small pic of an s-10 that was done like that. not hard to figutre out just a little modifications to the rods that actuate the latch and your done.

it can be done easily. just put a popper (not a solenoid) int he jamb so that when you open the handle, it pushes the front of the door open for ya. its nice to confuse people like that.

I was lookin in to this. I was reading in the Virginia inspection law, you need to have a door handle accessable from the outside of the vehicle. I wanna do suicide doors and love the look of shaved handles, but I think shaved handles are out. I wanted to put some smaller handles on the front side of the door (Miata handles? :??? But I still think stck handles with suicide would be SICK! Any pics anyone? Besides IFCUSTOMS.com
