pulled my dash out a couple days ago because i am taking it to have it upholstered. Well, a friend and i pulled it out and it came out without any problems, but, when i got back in the truck to start it and move it, i turn the key and nothing happens. No idea what caused this whether it was a blown fuse, ignition switch went out, or what. So we bypass the ignition switch and hotwire it just so i could move it. Well we get it started like that and then when i go to accelerate its extremely sluggish. I can floor it and it barely wants to accelerate, its almost like starting from 2nd or 3rd gear. Its a 1999 automatic 2.2 by the way. This one just blows my mind, no clue what could possibly happen from pulling the dash that would cause that to happen. I havent had a chance to check fuses for the ignition yet as we loaded the truck on the trailer and sent it to the interior shop. So i wont be able to check that til i get it back in a couple weeks. So does anyone have any clue of anything that might have caused this or anything i can check for that may have came unplugged, or any fuses in particular to check? ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

could very well be a ground somewhere.. i know my ranger i yanked the dash and none of the headlights worked and the turn signals were all messed up.. just a guess from me though

could be a ground... almost sounds like the computer didnt like you unhooking all those wires

thanks. hopefully when i get it back and hook everything back up it will just fix itself. but that would make things too easy so i doubt it happens lol.

sounds to me like the computer but the same thing happened to me and it was my ignition those trucks have that passlock system crap on them and sometimes when you unhook it itll reset and you have to reprogram it

yea i thought it might be the passlock too, but we never actually unhooked it, unless we unhooked something tied into it or something like that. its annoying i know that...gonna be a fun bitch putting that thing back in and trying to figure out whats wrong
