Was drivin today when my radio started actin up. Sound faded, the radio dimmed, flickered, and then shut off. Once off, smoke poured out from it. I ripped it out thinking there was an electrical fire behind it, but there wasnt. so i cooke the radio. Is this fixable? Its a Pioneer DEH-i forget the number, last years model, removable face, flips down to put the cd player in......

sounds like the amp fried on it. might be fixable...but to be honest, i know a few guys that repair and its not worth it. i sell the newer model of that radio and the go for 169 brand new.

haha I killed 2 Pioneer cd players that way I just took them back to walmart and they swapped them out for new ones I took one to a electronics repair place they told me I blew an "output IC" and it would be about $40 to fix but I just took it back to walmart for free
