ranger computer problems?

the truck runs fine at 1st then the oil gauge drops, the airbag light comes on, and the truck tries to die all at once.it shows no code when read. has anyone had this happen if so how do i fix it? if its the whole comp. where can i get a replacement? and how much$? thanks in advance

sounds like ur alt. mite be shot.whole pcms and hella expensive.

yeah try the alternator...the reason ur oil light drops is becuase ur engine is shutting off and it has no oil pressure...sometimes if u r airbag light comes on for no reason it is a sign that the spring assembly is going bad...happened to me...if that is the case more things on ur steering wheel and near it will stop sorking...ex..horn or cruise or lights on steering wheel...just somehting to think about

Are the dash board lights dimming also or the lights on the radio? I would also look into moving up to a higher amp alternator if you can. With the stereo system it could be putting more of a stress on the alternator.
