im wanting to build a new frame for my 82 s10 from the firewall back,what do yall think would be the best metal and if neone has pic could you post them?

i just finished backhalfing my truck. i used 2x4 x .120 box tubing and flatstock. but if you wanna do a stack floor use 3x3 x .120 or 2x3 x .120...heres some pics

2x3 1/4 thick is perfect if you want to do a stock floor. The taller you go the more channeling your going to have to do.

I used 2x3 box tubing that was 1/4" (0.25)inch thick on my '95 S-10 from the firewall back for the stock floor bodydrop. It's pretty strong. I used to have bag cups that were made out of 1/8" (0.125) inch thick and they bent in like a week so I don't really trust 1/8" stuff. I would either use 3/16" (0.1875) inch thick or 1/4" (0.25) inch thick.

I also used 2x3 .25 wall tubing.

Turned out great for me, very strong and sturdy.
