heres an old mock up picture of my steering on my 94. If i remember right its a 3/4" heim, and a U-joint out of an early 90s Ford Thunderbird, they bolt right in. I used an adapter to convert the stock shaft which is the part that goes through the firewall, it converts to DD, which I believe fit right in the U-joint, then the other side I used round stock and shaped it to fit, you can see where I attached that near the rag joint where the spot weld is in the picture. This also utilizes the stock toyota U-joint on the inside of the firewall, I lowered the steering column mounts about 1/2" so the steering would clear the bottom of the master cylinder as well. any questions just ask. I know its not an 87 but I think the steering is pretty similar, and this may not even be necessary with a 2.5" BD.
