Hey guys and girls, i'm building a 70 chevy c10 and was wondering if anyone knows how to convert the front from 6 lug to 5 lug? Is it as easy as swapping ball joints, spindles and tie rod ends to 73-87 equipment? i don't want to pay for a full kit so i know i can get the parts from a parts store. just wondering if it's that easy. and what 5 lug axle will fit in the rear? thanks guys!

You got it. u can take the rear off a 73-87 as well so its all 5 on 5 lug pattern. u can re use your front crossmember and arms just get new ball joints and tie rods spindles and rotors.

you could get a rear end off a 71 or 72 c10 and it will bolt right up to the factory trailing arms up front same 71 or 72 spindles, tie rods, and balljoints.

iv got a kit on mine that also converted to disc brakes(and went from 6 lug to 4.75 on 5). it sucks! i could have put together my own stuff and had better results. just not happy with it. although with the disc brake rear end it stops badass. trucks prolly 5500lbs(???) stops quick.

a 73-87 front susp. will make the value of your shizznit go up vs. a 71-71 plus with the 71-72 the bearings get more road grim and dirt in them than the 73-87 trust me in the end u will be happier with the newer susp.
