Okay i am in the middle of a build up on my 93 fullsize. It was wrecked and we got a frame and new front metal from a donor truck. The problem is that when we took the cab off of the donor truck we just used our motor lift and a chain and badly messed the roof up which didnt really matter, hence the word "donor". But now, i need the good cab off and we cant figure out a way to do it without bending it up. the local body shops say they use a wrecker and a big strap, surely there is a way to lift the cab off besides hiring a wrecker. Oh btw, the frame is still able to roll. It is in my shop with a 12 foot ceiling. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the way i moved my toyota cab was with an engine hoist and a wide strap, if you have sturdy beams in the shop ceiling, you could attach a rachet strap or comealong to some wide straps through the cab and hoist it up. or if you can get 6 strong guys over you could lift it off.

all you need to take off the cab is 4 friends i've done this many times.

Well no offense to your yota, but im afraid the weight ratio is a little different. Yeah the raftors could possibly work but i think it would be really risky. Sorry bout the ceiling it is a 10 foot, i didnt catch that, im afraid also it wont raise high enough to clear my tires. Any more?

im telling you i've done this to my fullsize like 5 times, its really simple with just 4 people. and also me and my friend did it to a s10 just a week ago.

Jesus if the interior is gutted then pick it up with some friends..Its not that damn heavy..Ive done many trucks like this.Hell try picking up the body of a REAL CAR like a 64 impala we did..now that shit is heavy.
Take the wheels off and lower it down as much as u can..hell let it sit on the ground on its suspension. OR push the thing outside and take it off there.

why dont you just jack the rear side of the body up from the bottom put some stands under there then jack the front up put some jacks under it then go get some 8 foot 4x4 pieces of wood then put 1 to the front of the cab with the jackstands on each end of the 8 foot piece of wood.. 1 person to do that then you can roll yer frame under it.. i learned to macgyver it by myself since im a loner...i dont like lifting shit cause it fucks yer back up after awhile
