need alllllll the info i can get on a chop top that retains the stock windshield and front door glass. i've looked at the if custom website numerous times and have it pretty much figured out, but i was wondering if there were any other tips or ideas you guys had. 1 ? i have is how much to lean the front glass back? does it matter how much, or is there a certain amount i should go? i ask this because i am sure that effects keeping the side glass. and on leaning the a pillars, how does one go about this? do u just cut at the bottom of the pillar and go from there? or do u have to cut out the whole window frame? i plan on keeping the front glass in during the chop to keep it nice and straight and it is cracked anyways...but yeah...i need a lil more help here..oh yeah this is on a 97 ext cab s10 and i aint worried about rear glass, that will be a smaller than stock glass, as for the ext cab glass, i have no clue about that, any ideas?

you want to angle the pillars back and recess the front glass into the firewall the side windows just wont get rulled up all the way

ok i should of read your whole post anyways depending on how much you wanna chop it say 3 inches roll your windows down 3 inces and see from there the angles and stuff

yea recess front glass into cowl, lower rear glass behind bed if have too, and with the A pillars once you lean back the cabs pillars. you wind up thinning out the top and fattening the bottom and try trimming the door part so it will come up with the stock glass. pain in ballz, hope your good with steel. my suggestions is get a donnor roof, you will need pieces of it for the chop.

ok i'm startin to get a good idea now..another thing is where should i cut the roof above the front glass? should i leave the whole frame intact or cut thr top section of the pillar off to come of with the roof. i assume when leaning the glass back the roof skin will need to be shortened in the front..as for stretching the pillars i'm ok with that, i'll just have to tackle it when i get into it...the main worry i have is with how much to lean the glass, but it seems i can do it as much as i please..the chop of the fullsize on the if custom website helps alllllot for alot of the small details...and i do have access to another roof skin and door pillars from a friend that cut his off so i'm good there too.

could some1 explain the part of recessing the glass into the cowl/firewall?

section your inner firewall behind your cowl then drop the windsheild frame how ever far you want your chop top to be... but doing this you will have to add on to your wiper cowl or hood
