I found that 2.5 inches is the right amount. we also raised all the control arm mounts. we sectioned the engine crossmember and that helped about another inch or so.

i did one about 2-3 years ago and was about 2" or so.very straight forward and easy just remove the fuel/brake lines on the inside of the rail

Michael White, do you know where you had to notch the floor, how much did you have to raise it up. I keep thinking about doing this but I really don't want to lose my center console. with fuel brake lines do you have to simply bend the factory ones some more or do you have to replace them completely, also how far back would you have to replace them.

i did a 1 inch Z on my toyota and it wasnt hard at all. I did have my motor out when i did it so that made it easier. I just did a little bit of bending with my fuel/brake lines and they went back together. If your motor is still in i think the only problem your gonna have is welding the inside of the framerails after the Z. If you got any questions hit me up!

we did the frame Z up 2&1/2" on one truck and 2" on the other. both had room for the trans where the shifter boot comes thru.

but behind the trans the floor had to be cut for the driveshaft. hit me up for pics
