Ok i have built many mazda pickups over the years but due to needing an suv and didnt want the traditional s10 blazer or explorer I went with the 2wd rodeo 94 model.I am wondering if the 2wd pickup spindles will work on this truck as I am planning on bagging it right away and in order to lay frame will i have to use the same tricks as traditional trucks? for the rear I am doing a notch and 2 link as i have had many trucks with the 2 link and never an issue so I will use it again on this one. Please get back to me asap...I just want to lay frame not door as I am currently in PA which has some stupid inspection laws.

Hey man. You are getting ready for an incredible journey. Unfortunatly, when building a Rodeo, your pretty much on your own. No one makes any spindles for the Rodeo(or really anything for that matter). Beleive me, I searched. Unless you want to do a considerable Z on the front clip like oOBounce220o did, you are going to have to replace the front clip. Even though your Rodeo is a 2wd, it sits on a 4x4 frame. I replaced my front clip with a 91 space cab front clip and it worked out very well. you can check it out. If i had to do it again, I think I would use a toyota front clip and acheive the 5lug swap at the same time. I also did a solid 2link in the rear. It works very well. Be prepared to rebuild all your crossmembers. I hope this helps you. Get back to me some time if you have any more Q's. L8r, Sponge.

So nothing but the body panels are swapable for this truck then? Well i am used to having to build things so i guess thinking this would be easy was just a joke.So anyways this really sucks Well i know i can at least lower it right and bag it...but not just get it to lay frame very easily.Which is odd....So even the lower control arms and everything wont work for this truck? As for the 2 link in the rear im not worried about that my friend ed at impactsuspensions in orange city florida builds me the nicest stuff..but now i will have to figure out the front stuff

I dont want to bodydrop it and I dont think i can graft other frames on to this truck not here at least when i go back to wisconsin it wouldnt be an issue. But Pennsylvania seems to have very very strick vehicle codes and they inspect the truck every year to make sure nothing has been modified

You could bag thet frame. The only problem you will run into is that the crossmember that hangs down about 4 inches between the lower control arms is going to prevent you from laying level. The back will only go down until the tires hit the wheel well. As for the body panels, sorry to throw another turd on the shit pile, but only the front panels(everything fwd of the rear doors) are interchangable. Everything at the back, except the tail-lights is different.

Yeah I am going to end up baging it I hope i can modify the front like my mazda's shaving and stuff to lay it as close as i can.Well i ment the front stuff.I am thinking a toyota 4x4 bumper and a billet insert on the grille and stuff already got a paint idea and then comes rims....with the flares in the fenders does it have some forgiveness with rims unlike mazdas? I mean i had to run very high offset rims on it.I would like a 17 inch or 18 inch rim with low profiles do i still have to run like a positive 40mm offset? will i still be able to swap the rear with a toyota axle like the mazdas i bring the truck home tommorow from the dealership so i havent looked at the suspension.Just a quick glance to see if the frame was in great shape and to make sure it was 2 wd.I have some minor modifications planned mainly rims and bagging it.As the other stuff will be paint and interior work.Which i have everything already waiting for it here...as i was pre planning a major purchase like this for the last 6 months so i pre bought most of everything.Once i get the 2 link built and the mounts figured out as i am going to do a cantilever setup on it.You other guys that did 2 link what type of track bar did you use? i never used one on my other trucks but i was told i need some type to hold the rear axle center and so it dont slide side to side...which i never had any issues with before....Anyways this isnt the first vehicle i bagged i did a saturn vue in my profile god that truck hopped high on normal air....i am going to take pics of the buildup but like i said it wont be major work like you others.Just if someone could answer the rim question i would appreciate it...i dont want to end up running eski's on it but i will if i have to....

The front hub on your Rodeo is the same hub that they use on the 4x4 so finding a rim that is going to beable to fit around that thing and still have a center cap is whats going to realy limit your rim selection. The back doesnt realy give you that much room for rims either, your going to need to stick to a high offset rim unless your willing to change out the rear axel like Sponge did.

The Rodeo all in all is about the same size as a Toyota Pickup, they are roughly the same lenght and they are very close in width, you should beable to stuff a toyota axel in the back if you wanted to go 5 lug.

And yeah the front cross memeber is freakishly large, I built a new cross memeber and mount in the front and it let my truck come down almost 4 more inches, and it set my oil pan about 1/2" off the ground. And if you rebuild the cross member like i did the truck should lay pretty flat between the front X-member and the Tranny X member, and i cant rember now but i belive you will need to raise the gas tank up at this point cuz it will be the lowest point. If you want to lay flat frame you will need to rebuild the tranny X-member and Z the frame 2"

Good luck with your ride man keep us posted

GOOD LUCK. My input on this is throw away the frame. Your gonna spend way too much time rebuilding everything . I mean everything on it to make it lay. Your better off getting a toyota front clip and building it from there. But like you said you have an inspection soooo You can just bag it as much as you can But its a royal pain. After bagging ,hydros, about 4 different suspensions, new frame clips, front z notch new crossmembers and countless other shit I only layed out on 17's. Then I decided on 20/22 combo so the frame went to the scrap yard. BUT DON'T GIVE UP.. they looks so sweet layin out . Keep us posted on the progress
