2600I mounting specs

Can anybody tell me if the 2600I manual trans uses the same trans crossmember as the 2200 manual trans? If they do share crossmembers does it use the same holes on the frame mounting ears or do you need to use the other set of holes? Are the frame mounts the same for the 2600I engine or are they unique? The reason for asking is that I can't find a 2600I to check the specs on for myself and I need to set a frame that I'm building to accept that engine/trans combo. It is currently setup for a 2.2 but the guy changed his mind midway through. Any help would be apreciated. Thanx

the frames are different between the 2200 and the 2600i, notably the engine mounts. They are, as you suspect, unique.

The transmission bellhousing is different, but the tail shaft should be the same, leading me to think the transmission mount should be the same.

If givent the choice, I would run the 2.2. The 2.6 injected motors, while faster, require more stuff to make them run (EFI pump, computer, unique distributor etc) and are very prone to head cracks. Used heads are just heads that havent cracked yet, the only fix is a NEW head from the dealer, bare it costs 900. My 2 cents.
