My truck had the front driver side smashed in about a year ago, and now after getting it back from getting the frame straightened, I have the whole front end back together.

Last night I put a brand new battery in to turn motor over, which was a success, but my brake lights immediatly went on, and the only time they go off is when I disconnect the battery??

The only thing that is different on the truck now then before the accident, is a new remote oil, and a cruise control unit.

Any thoughts/idea would be awesome...thanks

my old 91 s10 did that after i wrecked it. it was the brake light switch under the dash came loose, the brake pedal holds the switch in cutting the lights off, so when it came loose, lights come on. Good luck!

my 91 still does it. The metal ring that holes the brake light switch in place, over time eats the plastic threads off and it slides back, just reach under there and push it forward till you can buy another one.

As for the bulbs.. s10's are notorious for 1 ground in that entire 'chassis harness' being off, your lights wont blink, or will blink weird, or will stay on, or your brakes will light up, wont light up, etc.. 1 little ground not being perfect, will throw it ALL off.

thanks for all the input guys...it wasn't the actual switch, it's the bracket that houses the 2 switches..Thanks
