Heres the thing, when I bd my truck I took my motor/trans out.Well I put it back in,and me being an idiot didn't label vaccuum lines. So the truck is hard starting, and smokes like crazy,no power, doesn't idle, the whole works. So I'm wondering if I can use another carb,(not a weber)that will elimate most of the vaccuum lines and all that damn wiring. But the truck will run alright.Atleast for a couple months, till I swap that lump out.

you can get a weber on ebay or get an RGM carb from Redline for around $394

you will probably never get all of those vacuum lines back right your best bet is a weber or get a holley 5200 and modify the linkage if you get the 5200 get the one off either the mustang II or a pinto both have 2.3l motors and will require little to no adjustment to run right on your truck

since you dont want a weber get a holley. I think you can find one at the junk yard on mustang 2's or pinto's I believe not 100% on that.

The reason I don't want a weber is cuz I'm not keeping this motor and don't want to spend the money on a nice carb, lol. But with the holley do you need an adapter plate? And with the holly I can get rid of most of the wiring and vaccuum lines right?

ya u gotta make or buy an adapter plate

go to a junk yard and check out how the vacuum lines are hooked up on stock trucks, do the math, and there ya go.
