i am also looking to buy a TP watts. however if anyone is looking for a bare bones watts speedway motors have em for 70 bucks. crude and ugly but theyll achieve the same result without the looks.

yea i am thinking of a design, my buddy can custom make any kina design pretty much, hes got a switchblade lookin one, its cool, but i want a one-off, but if it looks half as good as TP's i'll be happy. supposedly like an inch and an 1/8 pinion change from filled to dumped. i should have it in about 2 weeks with a full sheetmetal bed, hopefully, i'll put pics up

Why are you going to run a watts link when your running a 3 link? Your 3rd link is going to hold the axle center, so the watts link is just going to be a waste of money.

not if all 3 links are parallel. like a parallel 4 link but only 1 upper bar.

you may be thinking of a wishbone 3 link where the upper link is like an a-arm, which keeps the axle centered

what job would the 1 upper bar be doin if there was a watts link?

The keeps the axle from twisting, i didnt really think about that kinda setup its kinda uncommon in the mini truckin community. I would still personally run a wishbone if i was doing any kind of 3 link, even if the wishbone link had to be off center to clear a gas tank.
