Ok, so i'm looking at an 87 b2600 for my husband but I noticed there are hardly any at all on here. Actually two. What is the difference between the two and why aren't people building them? Just not many made. Thought you guys might be able to help.

motor size and i think the 2600 has a different tranny, but i'm not sure though. b2000-2.0L, B2200-2.2L, B2600-2.6L. There are specific diffrences in how the 2.2 and 2.6 are set up with regards to the intake and exhaust.

the 87-88 b2600 was the same outwardly as the B2000/B2200, the main difference being the 2.6l 4 cyl from Mitsubishi. The frame is slightly different for the motor mounts and passenger side exhaust. Unfortunately they still use the same Nikki carb so the best upgrade for for performance is still a Weber 32/36 progressive, which will also get rid of that oily octopus on the drivers fender and the "canister vac" air cleaner. The 2.6 is both more powerful and more reliable than the 2.0/2.2 Mazda engine, and even more so than the later 89-93 B2600i which used a head cracking Mazda 2.6l engine.

Good find, they are still good trucks, as long as it runs well without smoke you will have a Mazda truck that will keep up with traffic. They didnt make many in the 2 years they were available, and the higher cost means they frequently had more options, like trailer mirrors and two tone paint..

well there is a LOT of b-series mazdas on here. Now the b2600 is a dit different that a b200 or b2600.

Normaly b2600 is a 4x4 with a 2.6 four cylinder engine and different powertrain all toghether including rear-end diameter and gears.

They are very popular for their body lines. the hood has a pretty hump on it, the fenders are wider than regular. There might be a few things that I am missing. I am sure some one will point them out.

If your husband is a member here more than likely he's going to want to lower it. If so a 4x4 is not the best option. I can be wrong but I don't think they make 2-wheel drive b-2600.
If I am wrong someone please advice.

not all b2600s are 4x4, the b2600s as far as i know did not come in 4x4, but on the other hand the b2600is came in 4x4 and some 2wd versions...differences between 2600 and 2600i has been mentioned above, one is carbed mitsu motor and one is fuel injection mazda

no, they were both offered in ext cab, as 2wd. I have never seen a B2600 4x4 ext cab though. Doesnt mean there wasnt one, just that I havent seen one.

And the bubble hoods only came on the 89-93 B2600i with the fuel injected motor. Never on the B2600. Didnt need it, the B2600 didnt have the intake going over the top of the engine.

I have a 1991 B2600i Extended cab 2wheel drive so that helps with some of the confusion.

here is a B2600 4x4 ext cab, so it was just that I havent seen one. Big picture, so I'll link it.

well i had a chance to buy a reg cab 87 mazda 2600. it had the mits engine in it was the only reason i decided not to buy it. but i know for sure it was legit, cuz it had the emblems and stickers under the hood still. and it was a reg cab b2600. carbed mits engine.
