aright so my mechanic said i need a new distributor, u can actually hear the bearing wearing out right now its making its own lil knocking noise. if i were to get an MSD 6a Ignition kit, and MSD blaster coil and an MSD distributor cap, then that would take care of it right? like the external coil combined with the cap is a new distributor, basically. i dont really understand the ignition system and i've been out of the loop on euro's for a couple years and i jus came across some money and decided i owe my car some appreciation by finally fixing it up instead of leaving it half assed. if this setup doesnt work, would a new OEM distributor combined with that 6a ignition kit and maybe an aftermarket distributor cap be a good move to make? thanks for the help.

euro you drive a JAPENESE car dude.

Just look for a used dizzy on a board sumwhere or buy a new one,No the msd ignition won't work since it's a bearing inside the dizzy wearing out.

ok i didnt mean a european car. i'll jus modded car. euro is a term that we used to use back in the day when we'd talk about a fixed up car that wasnt a lowrider, know what i mean? any lil honda or whatever that wanted a body kit and rims and all that would be called a euro. like lowrider euro, all modded import/domestic cars.

so the ignition wont work AFTER i replace the distributor with one that doesnt have a bearing going out? cause..logically, it seems like it should work.

what do you have for a car? cause i will either have an internal coil built right into the distributor or an external coil. just make sure you buy the right dizzy with or without the coil ifyou need it. and if you want to upgrade your ignition to the msd.. go for it. but an upgraded ignition wont do much for you as far as performance goes unless you have other mods done to the car. usually.

ok so let me see if i understand this right. my dizzy bearing is goin out, so i need a new distributor in the first place no matter what, right? and then after that, thats where the upgraded ignition parts come into play? cause the distributor i have on there now is totally stock, internal coil. if i get all those other parts, it'll jus be an upgraded ignition system on a distributor that still needs to be replaced, am i right? cause at first i didnt really understand it but now i'm gettin it i think.

if your car is stock with an internal coil and you want to run an MSD coil then you will have to hard wire the coil into "no internal coil" dizzy. and you can get the rest of the ignition upgrades wired in too...
