I have an 89 suburban, this summer I hope to get a new frame for it and build it separately while still beating the old truck around. I have some questions, I am not new to this kind of thing, I have done a 77 chevy truck before, I have also done a few mazda trucks laid out. first off, to get it to lay frame, whats the best suspension setup for bagged ride. I will be driving this thing croos country and it will be built nice, but still almost a daily driver. I plan on using 20" wheels, and it currently has drop spindles on it. would it be best to with an aftermarket control arm, upper and lower? is there some other setup I have not seen yet? the rear I am guessing a 4 link would be best setup for ride and travel, but what kind of bags would ride best back there, at low heights cruising down the interstate?
also, body panels, I know many people make many different parts for body panels, but where can I find the rear part of the floor with the tailgate attachment part, rear quarters, the roof, maybe rockers, maybe not? depends on the body drop, and doors, all that will fir nice, look proper, and not rust back out again in another year (I love the way a chevy rusts NOT).
also, I will be body dropping this one, first BD on a fullsize chevy, looks like lots of fun, how much do I have to go to get it to lay with the frame, no pinch molding. it looks pretty close right now with no BD, but I know its got to go some to lay without pinch molding right? or could it all be done with body mounts, no floor cutting involved?
hope to get pics up soon, and get the profile of this one going, been a while, but I am getting back into the sport pretty heavy at the ripe age of almost 30
also, any pictures of suburban stuff would be great, some suspension stuff, some bare frames, whatever you got, its basically an open suburban post for me to get more knowledge on this project!
