Im about to get on building my 72 burban, and i was wondering how much Z is required to lay. Any pics of steering shafts, and the actual Z would be awsome. Also ive heard you can run a little bit shorter body mount bushing, is this true? (they need to be changed anyways

Thanks in advance

2 1/2" will be enough to lay the cross member even with the frame.

Yes you can run a little bit shorter bushings which wont leave much for a body drop! even if u kept them at reg hight.

if you do a crossmember notch and use smaller body bushings you'll lay pinch with no problem, and it's going to be less work. check out this forum.

speedwaymotors.com sells a steering heim joint that fits over the 3/4" steering shaft.

I have some pics of a Zd frame and sectioned lower frame on my website in the projects page(86 chevy)

Mike you know of a body mount that could be used that is shorter? Maybe a brand or a part #.
