where are you v8 swap guys getting your engine mount adapters for a 90-95 toyota p/u??downey offroad and advanced adapters both told me their mount kits only work for 4x4 trucks.

any help would be appreciated, also, are you guys using the factory rubber mounts with the adapters?

I ordered universal street rod motor mounts from Speedway. I trimmed these and welded them to the frame after figuring out exactly where I wanted the motor to sit. I used Energy Suspension mounts on the block of the motor. I have an LT-1, but this should work on most any small block Chevy V-8. These are the universal mounts that I ordered. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/path.2005/img.91018031_L/deptId.405/displayId.1905/qx/ProductLargeView.htm

what are yu dropping in there, ford or chevy? Fords will use the stock mounts, chevy's require some work. Norhtwest is going to be your best and cheaper route over downey.

I know everybody like the cheapie small block chevy's but the fords do have some things going for them. For instance the distributor is in the front, no mods to the firwall. The ford blocks are narrower at the bottom hence the use of stock mounts. And with some junkyard hunting you can use a ford bellhousing that will mate up with the stock toy tranny. And you can also use certain 4 core ford radiators to finish out the swap.
