as a matter of fact i just put a 93 b2200 std cab rear end in my 86 b2000 ext cab, same thing!!!

ok i have a st cab its a 92 and an 86 x cab in 5 gear in my st cab doing 60 mph its like 2k rpm or so in my x cab doing 60 its like 35 ta 38 k rpm ?
bdroppeddak   +1y
i know in my 86 3 grand is about 65 mph. cant remember what my std cabs ran, but i think they were the same. if my 86 ext cab was geared any higher, i wouldnt be able to move

what size tires are you running? Because unless they are the same diameter, you dont have the same gearing even though the rear end gear is the same.

bolth with 18 same tires
dssur   +1y
hmmm something aint stirring the kool aid...

By my calculations, with a 3.91 rear gear, to turn 2k rpm at 60 mph with a even a 225 45 18, you'd still need almost a .6 overdrive 5th. And that just doesnt exist.

Figure speedo error, how fast is the truck going versus how fast does it SAY you are going and shoot me an answer back. Also give me your tire size so I can do exact calcs. I was just assuming a big 18 tire, you prbably have a really low profile one like a 215 35, but I didnt want to assume.

yea a 215 35 18 you can deff tell a diff the x cab motor is reving a lot higher at the same speed in my x cab 4 and 5 gear are almost the same it seems im always shifting outa 5 thinking its 4 gear this has stumped everyone i tell you fig this one out you are the tru maz GURU L8ER
