This is the description that I was given on some wheels I am thinking about buying the guy wasnt sure of the stats..

"They are 18x 8.5, They have a 5 1/2 inch back space with a 3 inch front space, if i measured correctly."

what are they goin on

my old wheels were damn near the same measurements, they fit when i wasnt bodydropped but as soon as i dropped the bed the hit the inner bedsides.

i would go with an 18x8 with a 5.5-6 backspace.

5.5 backspace with 3 front space would be a 7.5 inch wide wheel. The lips of the rim add a half inch to each side, so a 7.5 inch wide wheel is really 8.5 inches wide measured lip to lip.

If it was indeed an 18x8.5 with 5.5 backspace, it would have 4 front space (5.5+4=9.5 wide).

Just clarifying.

wouldnt it be best to measure from inner fender to inner fender with the hood opened? then calculate your wms to wms and add the space the rim would be. seems way easier to do it that way then to be guessing

Yeah, it would, but my truck is about 2 1/2 hours away from me right now...doh
