they are macphearson brackets for strut bags.. im kinda unclear how they work too .. but next weekend im using those brackets on my frieneds 03 civic si ..
so im me and i'll send you pics of the setup. showing step by step how they work..

you have to have strut bags?? or can you use them to make your own strut bags??

ya you have to use strut bags.. because the strut bags slide over the stock strut.... all the parts are at my friends house.. hes bring the stuff over on friday and im gonna install it for him.. so i will take pics and show you what its like..

Its pretty straight forward. You weld on the lower mount to the strut, bag, then bolt on the upper bag mount. then with the bearing and the factory upper you bolt it all back together. The problem is they dont always sit that low. The best thing to do is make a new mount for the car it will get you a lower.
