I have a freind that want's to body drop his 2000 dodge ram. I was looking thought the profiles and found like one that was body dropped. Is there a reason for this? I don't want to tell him it will be easy if he is going to run into some huge proble. He has 20's
the main thing is motor clearence. to get to the rockers its like a 5" bd and if you look inside the engine compartment there is like 2" of clearence. The back is like anything else.
5 inches I dont know what kind of tape measure you use my truck is b/d 2 3/4 inches and lays just fine on 20s and 22 wouldnt be that big of an issue either if you b/d you have to notch the wiper cowl and loose the wiper but my truck is stock cab and bed yes i said bed if you backhalf the truck you can run stock bed except for the notch hump of course. If you want some pics ive got some i can send and if i get my control arms from Mike at BYC YEAH RIGHT!!!! then everything will be cool ill be at layd out in the park and showfest if you want to see the finished truck
I'm in the middle of bodydropping mine. the issue is i have 22z. Had to go from a 305-45r22 to a 265-35-r22. any tricke with the front fenders on making them clear...we're realy close....down to millimeters..... hit me up if anyone has successfully done this and works more than once!!!!!!!
anybody have pics of there front set up or where ican get some front brackets made for my 95 to fit into my djms? layedouton 22's who is doign the work?
Me and a buddy r dropping the crap out of it....we did a 3 3/4 in body drop and the bumper lays hard....it will now drag engine crossmember and rockers....we had to make a crazy control arm for the drivers side to go around the steering...the pass was cake just move it back and you're golden...i'll take pics of the front on sunday....oh yeah..i get to keep the ac!!!! and we didn't use spindles...check out my pics
innovative makes them if your lazy, you can get the do it yourself kit from sd and its basically 5.5" od tubing with bag plates welded to em. their size depends on what size wheel your laying on and spindles are a HUGE help.
