Ok I think I might make box sides and door skins to eleminate the body line on my 88 toyota. ok do I cut off old stuff with a cut off wheel and the tack my new sheet metal in every inch and then in between every weld and then gring the weld a lil then glass then fill. oh and I was also wonderign how thick the metal I should buy is?

from a bodyshop view you should weld the panels solid only buy tack welding. like you say 1 inch then in between and then in between that. it would be best to use easy grind wire for the grinding of it, if you can keep from warping the metal you could almost get away with a good prime and block.

ok well i sorta knew the welding bit but I realy need to know how thick to buy my sheet metal? I am going to do the bed sides and the door skins to eliminate the body line.

So what thickness metal should I use? And just for kicks what does everyone think it will look like with no body line!

to make it look good you would need an english wheel and the ability to use it and shape both of the sides the same. i think it would be extremely hard.
