I have a 1997 chevrolet fullsize and it has the standard style body drop that I am finishing. I am looking at the throttle body and Am trying to figure out what I am going to do for a intake. The stock hood barely clears the a/c nipple on the top of the engine. I Am thinking I am going to have to make a custom intake. Is there any other way that anyone knows about?

didnt think about it, but the newer trucks have a different intake, mine has the round air cleaner....

Mine is dropped 3 1/2. Just so the rockers lay out. I havn't tried to fit the air intake back on but I am 99% sure there is no way that it is going to fit. I think that the older fullsizes didn't have the problem but I could be wrong. Just looking to get some ideas if anyone else has had this problem.

when my fullsize was done about 4 years ago it was done 3.75 inchs and it laid hard out and i had to get a smaller air cleaner from summit to fit on and that air cleaner touched the bottom of the hood and it was a lowrise
i know on the newer style with the fuel injected motors you might have to go with a vette intake or call up summit and ask them what they might have for a smaller intkae for your truck to lower it down i am sure they have a low rise but i had similar problems with mine years ago.
