So I went to a friends junkyard today and found 2 87 toyota supras one was an auto non turbo and the other was a 5 spd turbo. I also found a 94 yota 4x4.

I would love to go IRS if the supra would work.

Would the supra rear work on my 90 B2200. If not how about the yota rear.

I also found a set of 02 ranger headlights to convert to.

I did a little research and I think the supra rear is 58.3" wide. If that is true how much would I have to shorten it to fit. I know I can count on a little negative camber but I am trying to tuck 20's with a 2.5" BD. I only have a 2wd bed but I hope to find a 4wd. I would like to set up for the 2wd just in case.

Also if it turns out to be to much money to get the supra rear to work then I will go with the yota rear. Is there any difference in the 2wd vs. the 4wd.

the supra is a little too wide for a mazda, you'd need to narrow the lower links and the axles. That cant be cheap. But, what price is fame? Most use the RX rear because it is a trailing arm rear, so as long as you locate the crossmember properly you can install it pretty easily. The 300 z rear though, is multilink, and you'll have to fabicate all the mounts for the upper and forward links. Its a lot of work, but looks a lot tricker. Larry Echols isuzu has a 300 zx rear and looks impossibly complicated, which is a GOOD thing.

The 4x4 toyota rear is 6 lug. Might as well use a courier rear if you were going to stay 6 lug.

Yeah, WEAR A HELMET

haha

The tips I have were passed on by Larry, RX7 guru.

1. The inserts in the bushings stick up higher than the bushing, so you need to trim them.

2. The four mounting bushings need to be level when installed.

3. Set the pinion angle at -2 degrees using the vertical link.

4. Use reverse threads in one side of the vertical link to allow you to adjust it. You can use the stock one but it is not adjustable.

5. DO NOT set the rear end up to lay flat on the ground. Set it up so that you barely have any negative camber at ride height. Failing to do so will result in excessive toe in when laid out (dragging) and you will RUIN tires all day long. Its because the rear is a trailing arm suspension, the lower you mount the front of the trailing arm, the more toe you get at full drop. As much sense as this makes, and as many times as I explained it in writing as well as in person, the guy who bought the InnAir setup from me DID NOT LISTEN and his truck has stupid camber and toe laid out with save-a-space rear tires on it, imagine what it will be like with a set of 17's or 18's. Which he can never run, because his half shafts hit the clip, he will need to notch the rails to go to a bigger diameter tire.

Other than Larry's info though, I have not done this myself. Rest assured, I have seen the consequences of not following these tips though. I'll be doing mine hopefully in a week (when I get enough cashish for the plasma from selling of the res7 of my RX 7 donor! What a great 200 dollar buy that car was!)
