anyone travel more than 40 miles to work everyday? got an interview for a job, but its 43 miles away from the house, and also crosses from EST to CST, my current job is only a 14 mile trip, but more money is better.... will i get sick of the long drive?
The long drive will suck, and the time change will make it even worse. It might be more money, but you have to consider MORE GAS, MORE MILES ON YOUR RIDE, MORE OF YOUR TIME TAKEN FROM YOU BECAUSE OF WORK. I consider the drive to work part of the job!!
I quit a better paying job to be closer to home and it was worth it and that was before gas hit 3.00 a gal it gets old driving that much mine was about 37 miles one way now im less then two miles
I drive about 45 each way to work, the only reason i do it is the poeple i work with are great so itr makes the job fun, and i dont have a say in it one way or another since i am an apprentice for the local union and the own me.
hey bro i just moved south of my work. i use to drive like 15 mins to work and now its 45 mins. but what i am tryin to say is that alittle drive can suck some days but if you like who you work with and were your at its worth it definitly.
chris, it isn't too bad. I commute everyday from Newnan up to Georgia Tech in downtown Atlanta. It is around 45 miles one way and I drive it 5 days a week. Other spending a good bit more on gas, it isn't that bad. Plus you won't have to fight the killer ATL rush hour. That 40 miles takes me around 1 hr and 15 minutes. Ive got Sirius satellite radio so I actually have something to do. If the money is good, go for it. commuting isn't all that bad.
yea its all highway, just have to drive about 4 miles through a small city, not bad, yea if i had to be at work at 6am, i could leave at 6am, but when i got off at say 4pm, i wouldnt get home til almost 6pm lol....
