Saturday night i was out draggin my truck, so as im draggin, my truck begins to die out, so i air it up and press the gas, but it just keeps dying out, so i down shift, and it catches, but as soon as i press the gas, it just bogs down, so as im pulling over, it jsut dies, and now it wont do anything, not even turn over, and the battery is good, we cheked the wire to the starter, it it has 12 volts, but as soon as i try to turn it over, the volts drop to around 7 on one of the wires, and around 5 on the other wire to the starter, but if i stick the key in the ignition, and turn the key to the first click, the gauge lights and cd player are all on, but as soon as i go to try and turn it over, all the lights go out, could it be a short somewhere or what, im freakin lost and confused, it wont jump start either, any help would be awesome, thanks, Zander

try to jump start the truck and if you get it started, disconnect the battery cables while its running. if it dies, your altenator is bad.

the most dreaded and annoying Nissan curse. The fusible link at the battery connection. If I remember correctly its the biggest one, and its usually not the fusible link itself but the connection. Terminal corrosion is what causes it, if you bagged your truck and cut the inner fenders there has been plenty of moisture there...
