It's me again.

We are thinking about having a booth at a huge hot rod show in Syracus, NY this july and we were thinking about selling tickets and giveaway one or 2 wheels during the weekend.

My question is...is it actually legal to sell ticket and then give away some goods?? I mean, over here we can't do that 'cause it's considered as illegal lotery and stuff like that. We don't want to cross the border and having some problem because of a giveaway.

Would it be better for us to sell tickets at the show and then pick up the winner(s) once we're back??

There should be some people over here that know that...being there are a lot of you that organize shows and stuff like that... maybe there are some lawyer on here too...who knows.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Thanks, but actually that's the reason why I ask the question. I know a lot of people do it...but you know..being from Canada, officers are not so kind with us sometimes so I don't want to take any chance. Also, a lot of people sell crak...that doesn't make it legal...I was hoping for a more "legal" advice. But thanks

So if anyone could help I'd appreciate.

I'd think so, besides just "everyone" doing it, actual companies and organizations like schools and all do it and it's even advertised. Seems like it'd be fine as long as whoever's running the show allows it really. I've never heard of any legal talk about it, but it's interesting.. so maybe someone knows.
