Strut Bags.

I need some information on Strut bags. I have some that came off of a Maxima, and i'm trying to get them on a 95 camaro. We have it figured out as far as what we need to do to get them to fit. The bottom pole needs to be cut in half, and capped with a bracket for my car. The top needs to be welded in place. Does anyone know what is inside of the bottom pole of a strut bag? is there any reason that it can't be cut?

A pic would be helpful. If the "pole" you are refering to is a shock body I wouldn't cut it. If it's the shaft it would be best to have it machined with a thread.

Here is the link for the picture. I am talking about cutting off the end from where the threads stop and down. We would recap the end of it, and weld on the bracket to fit my car. The top we have solved. It's just the bottom we need info about. I have a friend that works at a machine shop, and he's going to take them with him to do all the cutting and welding on them.
