i am trying to find out if it is hard to make my own door and kicker panels and cover them, make my own headliner and floor carpet. is there anything that i need to look out for or know in advance. i plan to get the seats pro. upholstered but i love to take on hard projects. anything helps thanks

this is something that i am really interestd in also. go on amazon.com and look for books under key word automotive upholstery. they seem to be pretty helpful

dont get the one from eastwood i spent like 15 bux on it and it taught me absolutly nothing

i got the california bill's custom auto interiors book and i love it and recomend it with two thumbs up but i just want some advice on real people not pros that have done this and what problems i might run into

Door panels really aren't that hard to do. Tuck N Roll is pretty easy. As far as headliners, if your truck has one in it now, take it out and try t duplicate it. Get all the loops right. As far as carpet I have no idea.

my truck doesnt have any kind of interior no carpet no headliner everything has to be new i have no clue about the carpet cause it has to go over the tranny and wouldnt that put some wrinkles in it?

Send me an e-mail and I will give you the info for a book that a lot of trimmers start learning from. I have to go look up the author and name but can have it for you tommorrow. I was a trim shop employee and eventually owner. Doing the work yourself can be frustrating but very rewarding if you take the time to plan and learn about the resources available . Don't jump in too fast. So many times we do this and find there was an easier and less time consuming (read: less expensive) way to accomplish the goal. You may be able to do part of the work and let a trim shop finish it .
