I have the aforementioned head unit and am current trying to place it in my Ford Zx2.

I have the wiring diagram for the Zx2 and know which wires go where as far as speakers and whatnot is concerned but I do not have a diagram for my Pioneer head unit.

----------------------PurplePurple/BlackWhiteWhite/BlackGrayGray/BlackGreenGreen/BlackRedBlackYellow (+Battery)Orange/White (ILL)Blue/White (Remote)------------------------

I believe that that is the extent of the wires on the head units harnass. I was hoping someone here would be able to help me figure out what each wire goes to.

Thanks in advance!

Go buy a wire harness adapter at a stereo shop and it will all match up.

Thank you so much David. I hope this helps out.

I have one more question...How would I use the Yellow (Constant memory) wire?

the yellow wire conects to the wire in the car that shows 12 volts when the car is off. it keeps all your radio pre sets and clock correct. this wire is usally tied in with the dome light or cigarette lighter.

Ok, I did find the wiring diagram for the car, I'm not at home now, and I do think I remember seeing a wire labelled 12volt...hopefully that all works out.

Now if I could only find a decent looking stereo kit for a 98 zx2 at a reasonable price... ^^

That's not going to happen. Espically if you got the radio the size of football. The kit replaces the whole thingand is not cheap.

if you have the radio with the built in heater controls they are not cheap. I could order one from where I work but they about $150.00.

Dang, that's alright lol. I was able to locate a decent one for about 40$USD...
