I've got a 2 piece driveshaft on my longbed and I'm tryin to figure out why it vibrates when I go over 60 mph. The pinion angle at the axle looks like it's o.k. but where the 2 axles join together it looks like it might have a little too much angle. Should it be a 2 degree angle where the 2 driveshafts join together or what? What else could make it vibrate at high speeds? I've got the truck on jack stands trying it at differant ride heights and that doesn't change it much.

Take a read over this to hopefully help in fixing your driveshaft angles... http://www.bagginit.com/u_joint_page_1

Well i got the same issue with my dime, but i just havent had a chance to fix it...keep in mind the u-joints shouldn't operate in more then a 3 degree range, so you might need to space up the carrier bearing some more and then rotate the axle down some match the new angle

Yeah I think I probably have a little more than 3 degrees where the 2 driveshafts join together. I read over that website and realized it could also be loose motor mounts or the driveshaft being too far into the tranny which are both possibilities for me. I hope I get it fixed soon cause that vibration is annoying as hell.

i have the same problem I think its the drive shaft I hope but the lower I ride the vibration goes away.so I nearly drag every where I go

my nissan does it only between 40-45 for some reason. the ride height doesnt matter either. i think if it was a pinion problem on mine because different heights should make it stop and different speeds (especially higher speeds) shouldnt make it stop...

CARRIER BEARING SOUNDS LIKE IT'S BAD. EITHER THAT, OR THE DRIVELINE ITSELF IS OUT OF WHACK. HAVE THE DRIVELINE BALANCED AS A UNIT (BOTH SIDES, WITH THE CARRIER BEARING).

Ok it can be a couple things first off you driveline might be unbalanced. If thats not it then you need a slip yoke after the carrier bearing if you don't have one. and also make sure your driveline is pretty good and in your tranny cause if its not in your tranny far enough then its going to vibrate.
