I have one of the Viair press switches w/ the built in relay, its been on less than a month and it took a crap today. It sounds like something is loose and rattling around inside the case. Anyone else had this problem before?

well there are 2 things in a pressure switch besides wire and connectors, theres the pressure switch, and theres the relay. i dont know of anything that would be rattling around..... maybe one of the spade connectors or whatever they are called burned up and is rattling around?

what are you running off of the switch? like comps and how many?

I'm running 2 of the AZ comps on it.

BTW whatever it is thats rattling is fairly big, bigger than a connector, I wonder if the relay itself came loose.

Are those viair switches meant to handle up to 80 amp loads? If not, you've probably burnt up the switch and need a new relay and probably pressure switch.

So, are you saying I need 2 press. switches? Never needed that before.

dude you burnt that fucker the heck up, they are only rated @ 40a..... get 2 of them, or run 2 40a automotive relays and the pressure switch that came out of the switch. i did that on my truck when i was runnin 2 viair 400c, and i burnt up the viair relay.

the viair pressure switches are pretty shitty if you ask me. i had one burn out in like 30 seconds on a single little viair270. i hacked it open and it looked to me like whoever soldered the wires to the relay, had used about a 500 watt soldering iron and had cooked the relay. pretty crappy.
