after continually looking at my truck sitting in the garage i decided that i dont like the look of the huge cowl hood. so i think its time to just drop the motor down even though i dont really feel like it. what all is involved to do that and does anyone have some pics to help with it? (3.5" bd with a 1.25" z'd frame)

helped a buddy do his. didnt drop the motor that much though 2-3" probably. all we did is reworked the motor mounts. if you go much more you have to get into sectioning the oil pan and thats not fun im guessing.

i've done it in an s-10. we notched the crossmember and changed the motor mounts, not really a hard job, but i can imagine if the motor is in there and its running... its gonna be a lot of shit to take out

How much do you want to drop it? I'm developing bolt in dropped motor mounts.

yeah its not that hard. just look at it, study how it sits, then cut the mounts off and fab new ones. its pretty easy. you can go so far as to where youll need to notch oil pan for the steering linkage..

id like to go back to a stock hood but i dont think thatll be possible. so probably as low as i get the motor without causing any problems.
