I have a Kenwood Excelon DDX-8017 in-dash unit. I just got my ipod and tried hooking it up to the deck with Kenwood's iPod interface. I got songs to play through it, but i cant get the ipod screen to show up on my indash screen. Is that screen supposed to transfer over???? Thanks guys!!!

i've got a jvc deck in mine, i hook it up thro an AUX port in front. For it to show up on the dash unit, only certain units will display it, and you have to get special hookups to make the display transfer, which are like $200-250, that's what the guy told me whne i had my cdplayer put it. Not worth it in opinion

the kenwood ipod tuner is only compatible with some indash screens, when you use the ipod are you using the ipod to control what songs you're listening to or does the indash control the ipod independantly? if you are still using the ipod to control the music you need the kenwood direct ipod adapter model # KCA-IP500, this will let the kenwood control the ipod itself and you will see on screen what song you are listening to and who the artist is.
and before anyone tells me i'm wrong, I am a car audio installer for best buy and this is what you need.

id go another route its cheaper but i liek it alot more i got the fm transmitter from monster cable i got it for $50 off amazon.com and i loe it i hook it up to te jumperbox at work in the garage and it works liek 30 feet away i get a cig jack for home and it works roms and rooms away as long as there is fm signal it comes in great its just a pain to place the ipod in the center console and look for it everytime you want to change a song
