S10's with sheetmetal beds?

When you sheeted the sides in what did you do with that lip that hangs down on the inside all around the bed sides, bc in order to get the sheet square with the floor that lip either needs to bent or cut off or something but I dont want to cut it because it holds everything together what you guys do??
