I got 2 15lb trunk release solenoids 3 30/40 amp relays and an 8 channle keyless entry remote and brain from a buddy of mine. Everything is autoloc Im curious if these solenoids would be to weak to pop my doors on my civc.. Do I need to go with bigger ones? My car is a daily driver.. and will I need to buy door poppers as well? Ive never shaved doors before any help would be great

don't know about the 15 lbs sounds kinda small but you will need to buy door poppers if you want your doors to open but i think they are around 20 bucks

yea 15 pound solenoids sounds small. i have 35 pound ones in my nissan and the doors are pretty light.

So can I use this brain and remote and buy 35lb solenoids to shave the doors?

you only need the popers if you want it to pop all the way open i always just pull the top of the door when it pops the latch.... the 15 lbs might work i have had them on my toyota p/up and my s10and it works fine

yeah they will work. take your latch out and take out unecesary (spelling) springs that make it tough. also on the interior handle their is usually springs to help the door handle return. after you remove/modify springs it will be really easy to open the latch with the door solenoids. poppers help push the door out when popped. ive never had them on anything i have ever owned. even my full size chevy doors

Only bad thing about poppers is if you hit your button in your pocket or something your door will fly open. I don't use them because if they're not there your door will only unlatch once but still be latched on the secound notch and not be able for someone to open it.

so should i go without poppers? and is it real difficult to install the solenoids and brain?
