Can you tell me what this is on my engine and how to fix it??

in the pic near the back of the engine is that piece with the duct tape on it. what is it? i guess it's some sort of vaccum...it leaks when the engine runs. how can i fix it and what will it cost?

That appears to be a vacuum line to your power brake booster. You should be able to get a new one at any joe blow parts store. Fix it quick. You dont want a serious vacuum leak for very long.

can you get a better pic of it? From the angle it looks like its the brake booster vaccum line that is going into the intake manifold.

get some heat shrink tubing and melt it right over the broken plastic line

its not a broken line is broken on the intake side. the nipple or whatever its called is broken.

JB weld might work.

pull the upper intake and get a 90 fitting some teflon tape and a barb fitting w/ a hose clamp.
