ok im having some serious issues with clearance probs on my 99 ranger with a 2" z'ed front clip...my stock cats never cleared the ground so now that im dealing with it would i have a problem with how it runs if i didnt hook up the cats right now??? what if i just welded a bung in straight pipe for the 02 sensors? im gonna put my muffler on for sure though

I have a 99 maz with a flex fuel engine, it had 2 cats on the y pipe from the manifolds and then two bigger cats after that. I got a y-pipe off of a different ranger that didn't have cats and I had to move my other cats further down because the trans crossmember I had wouldnt fit. Do you have any pics of the z in the front?

ford exhaust and frames lol

I want to z the frame on the front of my truck but I would have no idea what to do with the exhaust because here in maryland they are strict on emission laws and I would have to keep all the cats!

ill post pics of the z later, i got the frame under it to finish the small stuff then ill pull it off and snap pics before and after powdercoating, i ended up just doing pipe back to a muffler cause i got another year and half before i gotta smog it so ill figure it out later and rock a clean hidden exhaust.

I have BBK headers & Y-pipe (which I had to rebuild the drivers side header to clear the steering linkage) with no cats and a single flowmaster. I had cats before I got the headers and they were below the frame rails, I lost every heat shield on them draggin, LOL, because they hung below the frame. No problem now.

What would you suggest be done if you need to keep all the exhaust there for emissions?

exhaust is gonna be a bitch. my ranger is stockfloored. i am planning on running a set of Borla headers that i have with a single high flow cat and a flowmaster. the bottom of the cab is very close to the ground w/ a stockfloor bd, the only room i have for a cat is where the bottom of the cab raises up from the factory for one of the cats. thats the only place i have room to put one so im going to try to find a smaller aftermarket converter. if yours is stockfloored i dont see any way you will fit both stocks cats back in place. from the bottom of my cab to the ground is about 2 3/4". i barely have enough room to fit pipe, much less the two stock cats.

Well that sucks, I def need to have the exhaust legal. Is there a way change the codes to get the check engine light to go off if you dont have all the o2 sensors? Forest did you z the front of the truck along witht the stdb? Did you do anything about raising the front control arms?
