hey, i just had a Kenwood headunit KDC-x589 installed. I dont have an atennea so im not expecting to get anything but static from the speakers when on Tuner.

After installed, i turned the truck on and no CD, so i turned the Tuner on and just static. Turned truck off, left, came back...turned it back on and the headunit powered on and went into standby mode. I turned it to Tuner with [SRC] button. and it immediately cut off.

CD player was in Demo Mode and i eventually figured how to turn it off, but now when i put a CD in or turn it to the Tuner i get nothing at all. The display shows that its playing the CD but no sound....any help???

thanks...this is in a 1994 yota 2wd btw.

I had this same problem. You probably have a short somewhere. Make sure none of the wires are cut or anything and make sure that the back of your speakers are not touching any metal. Mine was doing the same thing and pulled one of my speakers out and it started playing.

sounds like a short or blown speaker. A blown speaker will create a short and produces no sound. You can unhook each speaker 1 at a time to see which one it is
