I am sure that some of you out there have had your Nissan rear-end narrowed and I have a couple of questions about it. I need to shorten mine app. 1-2 inches on each side. When I shorten it do I need to use new axles or do they do something to the originals to make them work? If I have to buy new axles what lenghts can I get them in and how much do they cost? Thanks in advanced.
Call moser engineering in indiana narrowed mine by 2 1/4 inches and just cut the end of the axles off and resplined them and narrowed the housing for 220 dollars

Did they take 2 1/4 off each side or 2 1/4 off the over all lenght of the axle? What axle did you have shortened, the stock nissan? I also heard that for metric threads that they have to cut the existing splines off and re-spline the virgin part of the shaft with new splines.
