i have a couple of oppurtunities to get a stereo sponsorship but i have to attend so many shows a month and i have to attend to the show they have booths set up at, but here is the thing they don't go to blood drag, slamfest or many minitruck shows at all so i'm not sure if it worth the stereo to miss hanging out with the minitruckin shows

I had a friend of mine that got into the sponsorship deal before with audio and stuff, he was very dissatisfied with the way they treated him and the shows he made attend. They kinda treated him like a slave, when he asked if he could go to attend another show and STILL represent them, they would get all pissy adn talk down to him about contract obligations and stuff, I would steer away from, but to each his own, if you feel you'd want to put up with it, go for it

WOW.........never ran into anything like that and i've had sponsorships (and still have) from huge companies like Directed Electronics (PPI, Directed Video, Directed Essentials), Kenwood and Kicker. If a company designates you to go to a show and you agree that's you're deal. Otherwise, in your proposal you should clearly state what shows/events etc you are going to attend. If a company calls and asks you to attend another event that you did not have in your proposal then they will probobly cover your travel expenses to the show. If they call you up out of the blue and ask you to attend some show 1,000 miles away and they are't willing to at least cover your transportation and hotel accomadations.....tell them you never agreed to that show.
But, if you say yes, and don't show, then you can be in a heap of trouble.
(some companies will actually prosocute for fraud which would be a felony, because you exchanged product for your attendance and in any amount over 500 in most states is a felony) Felony theft by fraud, which is mostly considered a class c felony.

if you think a company is too demanding, or will most likely be too demanding, don't accept sponorship through them. once you receive product you are under obligation to fullfill your end. doesn't matter if it's a 2 dollar part or a total of 20,000 in product, your obligated. so before you accept, find out the terms and conditions (in writing). 99.9% of the time if your proposal doesn't offer them enough, then leave the company alone, no matter if it's wheels, tires, stereo, video, paint, whatever.....
sometimes free can be too good to be true.
