alright i know the cleche' whatever work works,and i know how i do it i want to know when u guys shave things do u like to cut a piece exact and weld ,grind and use little bondo or do u like to cut the piece bigger than weld it to the back,grind,glass,bondo?

i work at a bodyshop and some of the body guys that work with me say to put a piece behind it, but that will use more bondo in the end. i cut a piece the same size and welded it in somewhat flush then used some bondo. just take your time and try not to warp the door.. it sucks to fix.

Cut the area(lip) out first then flush plate with thickness of metal gap around it for weld to fill. Tack till solid grind smooth and if u do it right it wont require much filler at all. I usually skim mine with short strand kitty hair kock that down real quick then 2 part putty. Also before i start the filler work i epoxy prime.....
